Arguably the world’s most stylish city, Milan is definitely a town that takes pride in its appearance.  Wandering through the historic city centre, you’ll encounter a range of stunning sights and historic buildings worth exploring.  Must-sees include the Duomo, the stunning cathedral which took over 400 years to complete.  Unrivalled views over the city are to be had from its rooftop.  Forget Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino and Armani, if there was a prize for endurance, Milan’s top designer plaudit would undoubtedly be awarded to Leonardo da Vinci.  Some of the Renaissance genius’s best engineering work can be seen at the city’s canals.  Da Vinci designed the locks at Naviglo Grande and Naviglio Pavere.  His masterpiece, the Last Supper, is also on display at Santa Maria della Grazie at Piazza Santa Maria della Grazia.  No visit to Milan should be complete without treating yourself to a shopping spree.  As you’d expect from a trend capital of its calibre, Milan’s shopping scene is excellent.  All major designer stores are to be found on Montenapoleone, della Spiga, sant ‘Andre and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele.
