 The country’s biggest tourist magnet by far is Lake Malawi, Africa’s third largest lake and home to more species of fish than any other lake on the planet.  Even if fishing doesn’t float your boat, you’ll find Lake Malawi to be more like an inland sea than a lake, boasting countless exotic palm fringed beaches that draw sun seekers, nature lovers and sports enthusiasts in equal numbers.  The lakeside haven of Cape Maclear makes for an excellent base.  The sleepy resort town is situated within the Lake Malawi National Park and is a playground for divers and snorkelers.  Nykhata Bay, to the north makes for another attractive vacation destination.
