The car (clio) was in a exellent shape, nearly new! The exess was quoted by argus to 750 € the italians in Cagliari airport locked 1100€ on our Credit Card.. Of course they then want to sell their NoExessInsurance, that now covers a higher Price ... The car was good, and as perhaps you're not as well known as say Avis the check in desk was quieter so we were able to get away quickly from Cagliari Airport.
